The Extraordinary History of Flamborough and Beverly
There is a tremendous amount of local history in our area dating back thousands of years. Few people realize it, but the Flamborough-Beverly region is filled with Indigenous transportation networks (many of which we now use as roads) and sites highlighting their presence over many millennia . Settlers arrived as far back as the late 18th century (1780s). |

It is important that we know about our hometowns and where they came from. Whether it is Rockton, Greensville, Troy, Carlisle or Waterdown, there are many interesting stories to tell. A core part of thee Grade 12 Canadian History, Identity and Culture (CHI4U1) course at WDHS relates to local history and the connections it has to the larger story of Canada.
